Montauban is about half an hour by train from Toulouse. It’s a pretty small town in the region of Midi-Pyrénées in the south west of France. For more information: http://www.montauban.com.

Developing a project in social and fair trade, the organisation accommodates about fifty people. Since its foundation in 1995 , the community organizes international work camps.

The community’s main purpose is to help every person in a precarious situation.

The volunteers works in all the daily activities, in a partnership with the “compagnons”. The main goal of Emmaüs is to help people in difficult social situations and to offer them a social and a professional blossoming. Through an experience of social and cultural diversity, volunteers will learn about Emmaüs’s actions and values.

Participation in the activities of the Emmaüs community with the “compagnons” and “compagnes”: recuperating objects form donators, sorting, collecting or repairing objects, shop-keeping, gardening, selling, meetings, cultural events, international meals with the other volunteers.

The work is from Tuesday to Friday from 8 am to 5: 30 pm.

Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays will be for outings and leisure.

A person will organize the daily work in the workshops and the outings Excursions will be organized in order to discover the region: Montauban and its museums (Musée d’Ingres…), canoe on the river Aveyron, the seaside or the mountains…etc.

You will live within the community and will share the every day life of the “compagnons” (meals, leisure, working...)

The Emmaüs Community of Tarn et Garonne has started a project in ecological building and has a organic kitchen garden. During your stay you will informed about these projects and the sustainable development issues that the community supports.

You will be lodged in a dormitory within the community.

You will share meal times with the rest of the community.

Breakfast 7 am to 7:45 am / lunch 12 o’clock to 1:30 pm / diner 7 pm

The Emmaüs Community being a social accommodation organisation, it’s important to respect the organization’s rules for functioning. Particularly: the time table for work and meal times. Alcohol or any kind of drug is strictly forbidden.
